The End, The Beginning

This is Mama posting for Colin who is on a "date" with Aunt Mary.

Last night was the first tournament game. The Cubbies pulled through and won. WOW! I was so nervous there at the end. I get so into these games. We got home around 10pm and had to be back at the park at 9:30 this morning. Our game was supposed to have started at 10:15, but it was 11ish before we got started. IT WAS HOT! But man, those kids played their hearts out. Sadly, they lost. Nothing to blame it on, they just lost. They played really good.

I am so proud of this kiddos. It is amazing to watch them grow from March until June. They learn so much. It just seems like things start to click. It has been a blessing to spend time with these kids, some of them for the second and last year now. Jim Bob, Casey, and Evan are moving up. I wish them all the best. The rest of the lineup, I hope they are back next year. Colin and Jacob still have another year. I'm already excited to see what they will be able to do next season. The young kids will be exciting to watch as well as they have improved so much.

Now that baseball is officially over, we will be getting in soccer mode. We aren't doing soccer camp this year, but will be playing in the youth league. Sign ups started today. Can't believe it. Colin is moving up to U10, but I'm not quite sure I'm ready for that. Carson, well, I don't know if he will want to play or not. We'll see.

Regardless of what my kiddos choose to participate in, I always encourage them to to do their best and just have fun. They need to know that those are the two most important things. Sure winning is fun, but when are we always going to be on the winning team. Life has its valley and mountaintops. We have to make the best of those times, whether we are in the valley or high on the mountain. Those valleys are when we learn and when God can touch our lives.

It is such a blessing to be around these children (and my darlings I get to teach). I can be an example to them and show them that it is ok to fail. What is important is what you do with it. Failing or losing is not the end, it is the beginning of something new and better.

So today is the end of baseball. Now it is on to another adventure.

What a Day!

I went to the dentist today to get my teeth cleaned. The dentist tricked me and my mom by pulling my tooth afterwards.

I had a baseball game tonight. We played the Dodgers and won! I got a double and Mom got it on video.

This is part one of my double. Mom got excited and stopped filming.

This is the rest of the action. Jacob was batting and got a double, so I scored a run.
